Post Malone was on "a rough path" before fatherhood forever changed his life "in the best way ever."

In May 2022, the "Sunflower" singer welcomed a daughter with ex-fiancée Hee Sung "Jamie" Park. The arrival of their child came just weeks after Malone revealed to PEOPLE that they were expecting. Less than three years later, in March 2025, the couple appeared to have called it quits after the rapper was seen out with a different woman.

The Grammy winner did not share an official birth announcement for his daughter when she arrived. Instead, he slipped the happy news in a conversation with Howard Stern in June 2022.

A few months later, during an interview with GQ, Malone opened up about the challenges of balancing life on the road and fatherhood.

"It's really tough not being able to see her, but she's coming out more often now," he told the outlet. "I'm just happy to see her. But it is heartbreaking having to leave and not be able to be with her all the time."

In an August 2023 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, host Alex Cooper asked Malone what his biggest fear in life is. "I guess not being able to be there for my baby, which is a new fear," the rapper said. "That's why I tried to slow down on drinking, to take better care of my body."

From her low-key public reveal to her just-like-dad swag, here's everything to know about Post Malone's daughter.

While Malone hasn't revealed his daughter's name or her exact birth date, PEOPLE confirmed that the rapper and his then-fiancée welcomed their first child in May 2022.

According to TMZ, sources close to the rapper shared that the parents-to-be held a private party for family and friends in Southern California during the last weekend in April 2022 to celebrate their daughter.

Malone — who was born in Syracuse, N.Y., and raised in Grapevine, Texas — lived in Los Angeles from age 18 until he moved to a mountainside home outside of Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2019. His father, Rich Post, who lives nearby, told Billboard in January 2022 that the move "was a big sigh of relief for the parental figures." The rapper is still in L.A. frequently for work.

Malone kept her mom anonymous during their relationship

Malone has never publicly identified his ex-fiancée or posted about their relationship on social media. He first referred to her as his fiancée in June 2022 on The Howard Stern Show.

A year later, during an interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Malone shared the couple's engagement story.

"It was in [Las] Vegas," he told Cooper. "I had lost a significant amount of money at the table. We go upstairs and I’m off my rocker hammered and I was like, ‘Hey, you wanna marry me?' I got a ring and all this stuff. And she said 'no.' She’s like, ‘Ask me tomorrow,’ and I was like, 'Alright.' And then I did and I was sober and it was nice."

The "Better Now" singer added that he just knew she was the "right" one for him.

"I could tell ... her heart is so massive," he said. "I've always wanted kids and a big family. And I could tell she was going to be a really good mama. And she's like No. 1 mom in the f------ universe."

His daughter's mom's name wasn't made public until April 2025, after the former couple had gone their separate ways. Court documents obtained by PEOPLE revealed that her name is Hee Sung "Jamie" Park.

At the time, Park filed for primary physical custody of their daughter, with Malone sharing joint legal custody. She was also willing to give Malone visitation rights.

The former couple officially settled their custody battle seven months later, according to court documents filed in November 2025. Details of the agreement are sealed, but it included child support for their daughter, custody and visitation rights.

Malone tattooed her initials on his face

Though her full name hasn't been publicly announced yet, Malone did reveal his daughter's initials: DDP. He got the three letters tattooed on his forehead above "Stay Away," on the right side of his face.

The ink was done in October 2022 by tattoo artist Chad Rowe. He shared a photo of the rapper's new tattoo to Instagram, noting the "trust of such [an] important tattoo is a huge honor."

She's on her way to becoming a fan of Post Malone's music

Malone is still trying to figure out if his daughter is a fan of his music, but as he told GQ, in her earliest months, it seemed like she might be.

"I can't tell yet. She hasn't cried whenever I put my music on so far, which I think is a good sign, but we'll wait and find out. I got to let her decide," he said. "I tried to play her some stuff but I can't really tell what she's into right now."

"She's going to have to like my music, I think, [or] she's going to get used to it — I know everybody at the house plays it for her and hopefully, they'll get stuck in her head," he continued. "Kids love my music for some reason, which is awesome, so I'm hoping that she just goes with the flow on that one."

He did concede that she might hate his music simply because it's her dad's. "She'll be like, 'Dad, you suck. Just go away,' " he joked.

She influenced Malone's clothing collection

In 2022, Malone collaborated with Moose Knuckles on a gender-neutral, sherpa-and-camo capsule collection that included children's styles.

"I thought it would be fun for parents and their kids to be able to match — and, I guess, kids be swaggy, in general," he told GQ. "I recently had a baby girl, she's four months old. I'm trying to get a size for her — she's a little bit too tiny, but she'll grow into it. I just thought it was a fun thing to do, especially with the baby on the way at the time we were working on it."

His daughter might be too tiny for Moose Knuckles now, but the "Congratulations" rapper believes it's never too soon to get fitted for some camo duds.

"She's so swaggy. We got her overalls, Realtree camo everything, some nice hoodies, some zip-ups," he told the outlet. "She's so cool. She's way cooler than me but she definitely took a little inspiration from me."

The rapper's music has been covered by many other artists, and the tunes have also been transformed into Kidz Bop versions and lullabies. He plays the latter for his daughter — sometimes forgetting he's listening to his own songs!

"I love playing her lullabies," Malone told GQ of playing music for his daughter. "They make lullabies of my songs. Those are nice to listen to. Sometimes we'll even put it on and I'll have to guess what song it is and I just forget all the melodies. I'm like, 'What song is this?' "

She inspired Malone to be healthier

Since becoming a father, Malone has focused on living a healthier lifestyle.

In April 2023, he posted a photo of himself lounging in bed while on tour in Antwerp, Belgium. In the caption, he addressed questions about his weight loss. "I guess dad life kicked in and i decided to kick soda, and start eating better so i can be around for a long time for this little angel," he wrote. "Next up is smokes and brews, but i like to consider myself a patient man… lol!"

"I'm the happiest i've been in a long time," he added.

A few months later, Malone told Apple Music's Zane Lowe that he's partied less since the birth of his daughter.

"Having a baby really put a lot into perspective, and it’s really slowed me down a lot, party-wise, going out and being crazy," the rapper said before adding that alcohol is still "very much" his weakness.

Malone keeps her out of the spotlight

The "Rockstar" singer is very protective of his daughter's privacy.

"I feel like a lot of people feel entitled to know every single detail of everyone’s life and it’s why I don’t want to post any pictures of my baby. I want her to be able to make that decision whenever she wants to and is ready," he told CR Fashion Book in September 2023.
