Anna Chlumsky praised former Veep costar Timothy Simons and his latest TV project, Netflix’s Nobody Wants This, in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE

Chlumsky and Simons starred together as Amy Brookheimer and Jonah Ryan on seven seasons of Veep from 2012 to 2019

In Nobody Wants This seasons 1 and 2, Simons plays Sasha Roklov, the brother of Adam Brody’s Noah Roklov

While Anna Chlumsky’s Veep character admitted she “can’t do being nice to people,” the actress that plays her sure can “do being nice” in real life.

Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE at the premiere of the Broadway show Bug in New York City on Jan. 8, Chlumsky hyped up former Veep costar Timothy Simons and his latest TV project, Netflix’s Nobody Wants This.

“Oh, I’ve seen it,” Chlumsky, 45, said when asked if she’s watched Simons, 47, star as Sasha Roklov, the brother of Adam Brody’s Noah Roklov.

“He’s incredible. I’m always so proud of Tim. He’s the best. The best,” the Bride Hard star added of Simons’ career and performance in the show.

Nobody Wants This’ season 2, which premiered in October, follows the end of Sasha’s marriage to wife Esther (Jackie Tohn).

Simons told PEOPLE at the time that he wouldn’t change the way Sasha dealt with his marital issues in season 2 if he were in charge.

“My advice for Sasha would be [do] what he’s doing, which is, don’t try to hold on too tight if she needs that. Give her space and let her figure it out. You can’t force somebody to be there,” he explained.

Simons and Chlumsky starred together on all seven seasons of Veep from 2012 to 2019. Simons played Jonah Ryan, a White House liaison turned congressman.

Meanwhile, the My Girl star played Amy Brookheimer, the chief of staff to Vice President Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus).

Veep seasons 1 through 7 are available to stream on HBO Max. Both seasons of Nobody Wants This are available to stream on Netflix.
