Hayley Erbert Hough is opening up about one of the most meaningful chapters of her life yet — watching her husband, Derek Hough, step into fatherhood.
In a new Instagram post, Hayley shared a video of Derek outside in their yard holding their newborn daughter, Everley Capri. From Hayley’s point of view, a rainbow appears in the sky, lining up so perfectly that it looks as if it’s rising straight out of Derek and the baby in his arms.

Alongside the video, Hayley wrote a deeply personal message about what it’s been like to see the Dancing With the Stars pro-turned-judge become a dad.

“My love 🫀 Watching you step into the role of Dad is the greatest thing I have ever watched you do. I’ve always imagined you would be the most incredible dad.. And you are that and everything more. You are her dad. Her safe place. Her protector. Her role model. The man who will show her what love looks like. You already are her world and I’m super emo about it. 🥹”
She continued by reflecting on the quiet power of the moment she captured — Derek holding their daughter beneath the rainbow.
“Seeing our baby girl in your arms and the way you look at each other feels like a reflection of this beautiful life we have built together. We have created something so full of love, it’s impossible not to be proud of it.”

Hayley ended her message by expressing gratitude not just for Derek as a father, but as her partner.
“I’m so grateful for you, the man Everley gets to look up to and one day look for in a partner. The man I am so lucky to call my husband and the father of my child. I love you so much, Derek. I’d choose you over and over again, in this lifetime and any lifetime after.”

Everley was born on December 29, 2025, and the rainbow imagery holds special meaning for the family. The couple previously shared that they experienced a miscarriage a little over a year before welcoming their daughter, making Everley their rainbow baby — a symbol of hope after loss.
