Geena Davis, 70, stunned in a sequins illusion dress that resembled fireworks at the Cannes Film Festival closing ceremony on May 23.
Davis is among many stars—including Eva Longoria, Demi Moore, and Gillian Anderson—to rock sequins at the festival.
During the lavish event, Davis also wore a plunging, off-the-shoulder gown in white.
Sequin was the star of the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival closing ceremony on May 23. During the festival's closing event at Palais des Festivals, Geena Davis—accompanied by fellow stars including Demi Moore, who wore a dazzling Gucci halter gown, and Eva Longoria, who opted for a strapless gown dripping in gold sequins—brought the heat in a strapless illusion dress dripping in beads and sequins.
Davis's sparkling dress featured a sculptural bodice with a unique, pointed neckline that directed the eye toward the Academy Award-winning actress's face. Her glam team kept Davis's makeup simple, opting for a glossy pink lip and shimmering eyeshadow that brought out the jewel tones in the sequins and beading across her floor-length dress. The gown's intricate design created the illusion of fireworks bursting in all directions, making Davis's look a standout on the red carpet.

Up close, the dress—from Pamella Roland's pre-fall 2026 collection—also featured a single, subtle side cutout held together by a thin strip of sheer fabric along the bust. From behind, Davis's gown kept the surprises coming with a knee-high back slit that showed off her black pointed-toe heels. She completed the outfit with Chopard jewelry, including a diamond ring, a ruby-and-diamond bracelet, and matching ruby-and-diamond earrings that resembled moon shells on the beach.

During the ceremony, Davis, 70, took the stage to present the award for best actor to co-winners Emmanuel Macchia and Valentin Campagne for their roles in the film Coward, directed by Lukas Dhon. Other celebrities in attendance included Zoe Saldaña, Penélope Cruz, and Sebastian Stan.
Notably, Cannes also honored Davis's cult classic film Thelma & Louise by featuring a promotional photo for the film on the official poster for the closing ceremony. The black-and-white photo showed Davis and her costar, Susan Sarandon—both dressed in sleeveless tops and high-waisted jeans—posing in their iconic getaway car.
A few days earlier, on May 21, Davis delivered another stunning look in an off-the-shoulder gown with a plunging neckline and a dramatic, sweeping train while attending the amfAR Gala Cannes 2026 event in Cap d'Antibes, France. She styled the elegantly-draped ensemble with diamond drop earrings that nearly touched her shoulders and a matching diamond cuff bracelet.
