Jenna Bush Hager remains in awe of her friend and colleague Savannah Guthrie.

On Friday morning, NBC aired the second part of Guthrie’s exclusive sit-down with Hoda Kotb, in which she revealed her April 6 return to *Today*, two months after her mother, Nancy Guthrie, disappeared without a trace from her Arizona home.

“I’ve been so grateful to have this family,” Savanah said of the *Today* staff. “I consider this my family — my greater family — and I want to be with my family.”

Following the interview, her “sister” Bush Hager commended her bravery.

Several *Today* hosts gathered to react to Guthrie’s return, and as Kotb noted, “there’s no one at this table that’s closer to Savannah” than Bush Hager. “You guys are like sisters.”

Bush Hager was visibly emotional as she praised Guthrie for publicly sharing the devastation of her mother’s abduction.

“I just want to say, everything she said to you over the last two days is perfectly Savannah,” Bush Hager told Kotb, Al Roker, Craig Melvin, and Dylan Dreyer.

“She has been braver than I can even imagine,” Bush Hager continued. “She has been so vulnerable. I mean, she took her pain, her heart, her faith, her family in the midst of her despair, she laid it on the table for all of us. She didn’t have to do that. And she has. And I think of all of those people who’ve had heartbreak, they feel seen.”

Three weeks earlier, Bush Hager shared with viewers the emotional reunion with her dear friend when Guthrie visited the NBC Studios in New York for the first time since her mother disappeared on Feb. 1.

“Savannah has come back to her home here at 30 Rock in Studio 1A,” Bush Hager said on March 5 episode of *Today with Jenna & Sheinelle*. “We got to see her this morning, and in her perfect way, she talked to all of us, hugged every single person in this room, the crew.”

“She said that she has the intention to return to the show,” Hager continued. "Even though it feels like the hardest thing to do, it’s also her home and where she feels so loved. And she is beyond loved here. And, so, we’re happy that she is home. I don’t know when she’s actually returning to the show, but she was here, and that felt so good to get to hug her.”
