Kate Winslet is intimately acquainted with a side of her *Titanic *costar Leonardo DiCaprio that audiences are only now discovering.
"What I love the most about *One Battle After Another*," Winslet noted in an interview with *Access Hollywood *on Wednesday, "is that people are like, 'Oh my god, he's so funny.' And I'm like, '...Yes.'"
Winslet explained that DiCaprio "is and has always been one of the funniest people I've ever met in my life. So I just feel very excited for him that he's able to just enjoy that side of himself in this particular performance, which I think is one of his finest."
That's high praise coming from his costar in modern masterpieces like James Cameron's box office-busting *Titanic *and Sam Mendes' Oscar-nominated *Revolutionary Road*. But DiCaprio's already been nominated for a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild award, and is heavily tipped to receive a Best Actor nod at the 2026 Academy Awards.
DiCaprio plays Bob Ferguson, a zealous revolutionary turned paranoid burnout, in the latest epic slice of Americana from master filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson. Though the film showcases some of the actor's funniest line reads since *Once Upon a Time in Hollywood *or even *The Wolf of Wall Street*, it has sparked some controversy for being nominated in comedy categories at the Golden Globes.

Last fall, the famously reclusive DiCaprio made a rare public appearance on Winslet's behalf to support *Lee*, her passion project biopic of the British WWII photographer Lee Miller.**
"Kate Winslet has dedicated herself to the film and to honoring Lee's legacy for over the course of nine years," DiCaprio remarked before a screening of the film, with Winslet also in attendance. "I remember her speaking about this to me personally. This has been a massive passion project for her, and it's a journey that speaks to the depth of Kate's passion and her dedication to telling stories that need to be remembered."
DiCaprio concluded by crowning the Oscar winner "one of the great talents of my generation."**
