Kylie Kelce opened up about her difficult experiences with pregnancy and her negative feelings toward placentas

The mom of four shared how she coped with fears of pregnancy loss after experiencing a miscarriage

Kelce emphasized the importance of trying again despite challenges, crediting that mindset for her daughter Wyatt

Kylie Kelce doesn’t have a great relationship with her placentas.

During a Thursday, Sept. 17 episode of the Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce podcast, the mom of four, 34, spoke with influencer Allison Kuch, 31, about their birth stories. Kuch, whose real name is Allison Kucharczyk, began by saying that she feels like her truest self when she’s pregnant.

ā€œThat’s so lucky. Because every time I’m pregnant, I’m like, the second this placenta gets out...and I don’t even blame the baby. I blame the placenta. That is a hormone bag of hell for me,ā€ responds Kelce.

ā€œWait, they showed me my placenta. He was like, ā€˜Do you want to see the placenta?’ ā€ recalls Kuch. ā€œOh, yeah. I got pictures of it.ā€

ā€œFour times, I’ve never seen it,ā€ says Kelce, who shares her four daughters — Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finn, 17 months — with husband Jason Kelce.

Kuch went on to say that she got her first placenta encapsulated, but didn’t do that this time around. She then asked Kylie if it’s true that she’s never seen any of her placentas.

ā€œI’ve never seen them. I think that’s better. I don’t have a peaceful relationship with placentas,ā€ says Kylie. ā€œI’m actually very angry with the placenta, which helps me not be angry with the child I’m growing. I’m like, ā€˜You’re a sweet little innocent baby, but the bag of hormones connected to you, the devil.ā€™ā€

ā€œSucking the life out of you,ā€ adds Kuch.

ā€œHorrible. Absolutely horrific. And I’m telling you, within 24 hours after that s--t is out, I’m like vibing. Just happy as a clam,ā€ says Kylie.

In August, Kylie spoke about whether she was scared to try to get pregnant again after her miscarriage in another episode of her podcast. The mom of four said she was ā€œterrifiedā€ to try again.

ā€œEven when we got pregnant, I then, every single week, was looking up what are the chances that this pregnancy sticks?ā€ Kylie recalled. ā€œAnd then once I got into my second trimester, towards the end of my second trimester, because I was still Googling at the beginning of my second trimester, like, what are the chances I get to meet this baby? At the end of my second trimester, I flipped it. And I then asked the question, what are the chances that if I had the baby today that the baby could survive?ā€

Kylie admitted that the thought process may not have been a healthy one, but it was a helpful one for her at the time.

ā€œI think that sits with you forever,ā€ she said of miscarriage. ā€œI had those same feelings through the rest of my pregnancies. You experienced a loss and it’s okay to have that grief sit with you. That is going to be something that might pop up when you least expect it.ā€

However, Kylie added, ā€œBut if I had not tried again, I would not have Wyatt. So I think that sometimes you have to go at the hard thing and try again.ā€
