Selby's arrest stemmed from an alleged March 2 incident wherein the mother of his child claimed that the rapper threw her against the ground, PEOPLE reported, citing a police report. The woman alleged that Selby ripped her pants while attempting to grab the keys to their vehicle to return to the airport to pick up lost luggage, and after he put their child into a car seat, he threw her to the ground outside their home as she tried to intervene, the outlet reported.

The woman claimed that she sustained minor scratches on her lower back and her arm. She said that she removed the child — whom she said did not witness the alleged altercation — from the car before the musician departed. Authorities arrived after Selby left the scene.
