Sam Champion is back at *Good Morning America** *days after undergoing heart surgery.
The weatherman returned to the *GMA *studio on Wednesday to talk about his heart surgery. Despite this, Champion said he felt "fine" sitting among his colleagues. "I had a little bit of a heart scare over the weekend that led to an urgent procedure," he said, which took only one hour.
He spoke about wanting to share a picture on Instagram of himself post-surgery on Sunday to "thank the incredible cardiology team," calling out Dr. Lerakis and Dr. Sharma at the Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital in New York.
"I'm healthy. My heart presents as healthy. When I was tested over and over again, everything looked fine. There was one symptom that kept persisting. I didn't know it could mean a heart attack, until I had a nuclear stress test to see what was going on inside my heart," Champion explained, noting that him being out of breath was the one symptom that was a red flag for doctors.**

Cardiologist Dr. Tara Narula also appeared on *GMA *to break down the different levels of testing that ought to be done, should someone be experiencing symptoms such as shortness of breath.
The cardiac catheter procedure Champion needing based on the results of his nuclear testing was not invasive, and anyone who undergoes it doesn't "necessarily have to take a break."
"We do tell people to kind of limit certain activities, in terms of heavy lifting," Narula said. “But certainly you are back up and at it. But I think people are surprised to see you can have a stent put in and have this heart procedure and be looking exactly how you do.”
