Fox McCloud will be entering the Super Mario Bros. cinematic universe, creating a surprise Super Smash Bros. crossover in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The voice actor for the character has not yet been announced.

McCloud is an anthropomorphic fox featured in several Nintendo games. He was first introduced in the 1993 adventure game Star Fox and has been a part of every installment of Super Smash Bros. since the franchise was introduced in 1999. He has garnered a cult following over the years, even making Entertainment Weekly's list of coolest video game characters.

The film's official social media accounts shared a movie poster featuring McCloud in his signature combat outfit and tactical visor on Thursday. His appearance in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has created fan speculation over a potential stand-alone Super Smash Bros. film.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is the sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The 2023 film was a massive box office success, bagging $1.3 billion gross and setting the stage for a new wave of animated video game adaptations.

Numerous fan-favorite characters are being introduced in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Nintendo previously shared a much-anticipated first look at Yoshi, voiced by Donald Glover, the popular green dinosaur featured in various Super Mario Bros. games.

The trailer showed Yoshi joining Mario (Chris Pratt), Luigi (Charlie Day), Toad (Keegan-Michael Key), and Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy) in their adventures. Yoshi's appearance was first teased in a post-credits scene following The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which showed a polka-dotted egg cracking.

Previous trailers also revealed the introduction of Rosalina (Brie Larson) and Bowser Jr. (Benny Safdie) into the Super Mario Bros. cinematic universe. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie arrives in theaters on April 1.
