Taylor Swift will not be attending the 2026 American Music Awards, PEOPLE confirms.
The "Opalite" singer, 36, is nominated for eight awards at the 2026 AMAs, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for her smash 2025 record The Life of a Showgirl.
With 40 AMA trophies, Swift is the most-awarded artist in the show's history — and if she sweeps all of her categories this year, she'll tie Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for the most wins in a single year.
Queen Latifah will host the 52nd AMAs from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, airing live on CBS and Paramount+ at 8 p.m. ET on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25. Keith Urban, Riley Green, Sombr, Hootie & the Blowfish, KATSEYE, Maluma and more are slated to perform at this year's show.

Next, "The Fate of Ophelia" singer — who is engaged to Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce— will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York City on June 11. Swift will make history once again, becoming the youngest-ever woman to be inducted into the organization.
The recognition follows another prolific and productive period for Swift.
In October, the singer-songwriter released her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, which shattered records to hold the best first-week sales of an album in modern music history. Two months later, she released a Taylor Swift: The End of an Era, a six-part Disney+ docuseries chronicling the behind the scenes of her record-smashing Eras Tour; at the same time, she dropped Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show, a concert film from the tour's last stop, also streaming on Disney+.
