Travel Problems Over The Next Few Days
Smooth driving and flying is expected Sunday from coast to coast. A few minor delays are possible in the Pacific Northwest by Sunday night as a pattern change begins. A few showers are also possible in southern Florida through the end of the weekend.
A few delays are increasingly likely beginning Monday night in the Midwest as a storm system intensifies over the region. Chicago and Milwaukee, in particular, may see delays by Tuesday. The storm's cold front will stretch from the Midwest to the Central Plains by Tuesday night, bringing rain and storms along its path. The low and its cold front will shift east for Wednesday, bringing soggy weather from the Northeast to the South into Thursday.
More storm systems will begin to impact parts of the West as the week progresses, which will lead to a wetter pattern compared to last week. The first will move through the Rockies on Wednesday and eventually impact the East right on the heels of the first storm system that will impact the region to start the week.
Yet another storm system will move onshore across the Pacific Northwest Thursday, bringing more mountain snowfall to the West into Friday.
If you're heading south in the days ahead, keep in mind that the trees are in full swing. Pollen sufferers will want to account for that in any outdoor plans. You can see how far north the pollen has gotten in maps at the end of this article.
