The Atlanta rapper welcomed his first baby, sharing the exciting news on Instagram back in June
Then, on Wednesday, July 22, he shared the first glimpse at his baby boy on Instagram as he reflected on becoming a father in his heartfelt caption
Waka Flocka Flame is officially a dad!
The Atlanta rapper, 40, welcomed his first baby, a son named Juaquin Jr., sharing the exciting news on Instagram back in June. In the snap, Waka Flocka, born Juaquin James Malphurs, shared a selfie of himself dressed in a surgical mask, hair net and outfit in the hospital room.
“Looking into my newborn’s eyes, I can’t believe the insight, the intuition, the responsibility that hits you all at once,” he captioned the photo. “It’s my job to help shape a beautiful human.. loving, caring, thoughtful, and kind. My God... there’s so much running through my head right now…Purpose so clear 🌄”
On Wednesday, July 22, the “If You Don’t Like To Party” artist shared the first photo with his son as he reflected on becoming a father and spending time with his son in his heartfelt caption.
“Some blessings don’t make noise… they just fall asleep in your arms,” he wrote. “For years, I wondered what this moment would feel like. Through every scar, every setback, every betrayal, every lesson, every long night, every victory that still felt empty… God was preparing me for this. Holding my son, my junior, while my wife sleeps beside us, I finally understand that some prayers take years because they’re worth the wait.”
“Everything I fought through was worth this moment,” he added. “To my son: You’ll never have to question if your father loves you. I prayed for you before I ever met you. To my wife: Thank you for seeing the man in me, the king in me, even when life tried to convince me otherwise. Your love gave me another reason to stand tall.”
He went on to share that the moment, holding his son, made him feel like his “purpose is clearer than it’s ever been.”

“This is the richest I’ve ever felt in life..not because of what I own, but because of who’s in my arms,” Flocka said. “My heart is full. My purpose is clearer than it’s ever been. Thank you, God. 🤍”
Back in May, the rapper first shared the news that he was expecting a son on Instagram. He also revealed his son’s name in that post.

“Just waiting for you to come home Jr.,” he wrote in his caption. “Best gift a man could ever ask for 🤲🏽👨🏽🍼 I walked 40yrs on earth!!”
Waka’s photo showed a wooden J which featured his son’s name engraved on the bottom.
Although this is Waka’s first biological child, the rapper helped raise his stepdaughter, Charlie, 20, alongside his ex-wife, Tammy Rivera. The two divorced in 2022.
