The finale of Lost polarized viewers when it aired on May 23, 2010, but one person who appreciated the way the series closed out was actor Daniel Dae Kim. In a 2026 interview with PEOPLE, he said, "I cared most about the characters, and the fact that the characters were all together at the end of the series was the thing that mattered most to me."
ABCâs ambitious drama about a plane crash on a tropical island, and the 71 people (and one dog!) who made it out alive, premiered on Sept. 22, 2004. Soon after, things took a turn for the weird. For six seasons, the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 dealt with natural threats, interpersonal conflicts, and supernatural forces.
Lost made headlines for its large cast: The show featured 14 main characters in its first season â though not everybody made it off the island. Keep reading to learn what the ensemble from this pioneering drama has been up to in the last two-plus decades.

Matthew Fox played the de facto leader, Dr. Jack Shephard. Jack was originally intended to die in the pilot â back when Michael Keaton was envisioned for the role. Instead, the character was a mainstay anchor for the Lost ensemble until the bitter end, where he saved the island in the finale.
''Redemption is always a big theme for me, so I had waited a long, long time for that moment for Jack,'' Fox told EW in 2011 about the completion of Jackâs arc. ''He had made so many mistakes and fallen apart and become this shell of a man and was really lost. And to finally get to play that endâŠfelt good.''
Prior to Lost, Fox was best known as the eldest Salinger sibling on Party of Five. During his time on the island, he costarred in Smokinâ Aces (2006), We Are Marshall (2006), and the Wachowskisâ Speed Racer movie (2008).
After the series ended,Fox stepped away from television. In 2011, he appeared on stage in Londonâs West End for In a Forest, Dark and Deep. He went on to costar in the military drama Emperor (2012), was unrecognizable as the villain in Alex Cross (2012), and appeared in the Western-horror hybrid Bone Tomahawk (2015). Fox resurfaced in Peacockâs limited series Last Light in 2022. In 2026, he began starring opposite Michelle Pfeiffer on the Yellowstone spinoff, The Madison.

Evangeline Lilly was a complete unknown when she became an overnight star as outlaw Kate Austen, a role that earned her a Golden Globe nomination.
She told PEOPLE in 2021, "I cringe watching every single episode of the first two seasons⊠Because it was my first acting gig ever, and I really didn't know what I was doing, and I was so bad in so many moments."
The actress later landed a role in Best Picture-winner The Hurt Locker(2008) before graduating to the Hugh Jackman-led Real Steel (2011) and the latter two films in Peter Jacksonâs Hobbittrilogy as the elven archer Tauriel, one of the few characters created specifically for the films. For the MCU, Lilly doused herself in Pym particles to play Hope van Dyne, a.k.a the Wasp, in Ant-Man(2015),reprising the part in two sequels, Avengers: Endgame (2019), and an episode of What If...?. Elsewhere, she starred in the comedy Little Evil (2017) and the indie drama South of Heaven (2021).
In 2024, she announced on Instagram that she was retiring from acting: âStepping away from what seems like the obvious choice (wealth and fame) can feel scary at times, but stepping into your dharma replaces the fear with fulfillment. I might return to Hollywood one day, but, for now, this is where I belong.â In January 2026, she shared on social media that she suffered brain damage after a fall, and her brain was functioning at decreased capacity.
