Lastly, Santiago asks that Pierce pay for her attorney fees and costs in the amount of $100,000.

In the documents, Santiago claims that Pierce has "publicly stated that during his NBA career he made enough money from endorsements that he did not have to use his NBA salary to pay his expenses or generous expenditures on his family, romantic partners and family."

Reps for Santiago and Pierce did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

Last October, Pierce was charged with driving under the influence two weeks after he was allegedly found asleep behind the wheel in Los Angeles.

The NBA Hall of Famer faced one count each of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and driving a vehicle with a blood alcohol content level of .08% or more, per California Superior Court records obtained by PEOPLE. Both are misdemeanors.

Pierce has pleaded not guilty in the case.

TMZ was the first to report the news. PEOPLE reached out to a rep for Pierce for comment at the time.

Pierce and his ex-wife Julie Landrum share three kids together — daughter Prianna and sons Prince and Adrian.
